Who hasn't dreamed of going on a wildlife-viewing safari to Africa?
The continent is vast and the terrain breathtakingly varied and is host to the most diverse and extensive wildlife resources on Earth. From mountain
gorillas living in misty mountain forests, to great populations of elephants in the savannah, to the chase of predators and prey in the grasslands, Africa
is rich in wildlife and wild lands. When is the best time to see and photograph this diversity? This is not so easy to answer - see the article by Southern
Africa Places.
Dry Season: The winter months from April to September are particularly good. The days are warm and dry and the nights cold. The best game viewing season
is definitely autumn and winter, when the vegetation becomes bare, and water is limited to rivers and artificial waterholes.
Rainy Season: The subtropical climate causes hot rainy summers which start in October and ending around March. The summer rains convert the dry reserve
into a green paradise, but the thick bush does make wildlife more difficult to see.
Waterholes attract a steady parade of wildlife
Throughout Southern Africa there is an abundance of wildlife for you to enjoy. The following represents a small sample of the hundreds of thousands of
species of wildlife found in Southern Africa. The term 'wildlife' refers to mammals, birds, fish and reptiles that can be found in the wild. To learn more

Our Blue Planets Biomes
What a great way to find out about the 'Worlds Biomes'. Major biomes include deserts, forests, grasslands, tundra, and several types of aquatic environments.
The earth includes a huge variety of living things, from complex plants and animals to very simple, one-celled organisms. But large or small, simple or
complex, no organism lives alone. Each depends in some way on other living and nonliving things in its surroundings.
