Castle Tioram, Loch Moidart
This is one of Scotland's most romantic castles. Like Castle Stalker and Eilean Donan it is located on the shoreline but unlike the other two it can
be accessed at low tide. This underlines the poetry of the Castle and its environment. The fact that it is ruinous - unlike Eilean Donan - adds to the
attraction.
Castle Tioram (pronounced "Cheerum" from Scottish Gaelic "Caisteal Tioram" meaning "dry castle") is a ruined castle that sits on
the tidal island Eilean Tioram in Loch Moidart, Lochaber, Scottish Highland. The Castle is a picturesque ruin situated on a remote, rocky island overlooking
Loch Moidart. Its West Coast location is made all the more remote by the fact that it is only accessible at low tide.

Although access to the castle is prevented, visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the loch. Described by Winston Churchill as the second most
beautiful place on earth after the Great Lakes of Africa, Castle Tioram has appeared in "Rob Roy" and two of the "Highlander" films.
