Muay Thai, kickboxing is probably the most popular spectator sport in Thailand. Almost anything goes both in the ring and the stands. The wild musical
accompaniment, the ceremonial beginning to each match, along with the devastating martial arts action will make it a night to remember.
The number one Thai seaside town boasts a wider variety of sports than any other in South East Asia. The trick is to find out where it's all happening.
Locations and contact people in a bustling go-ahead town like Pattaya can change over night but your travel courier or hotel desk should be able to give you
up to date information. Here is just a little of what is available for you.
Archery:
Nong Nooch Village has an archery range and can hire you the necessary equipment. A baht bus will get you there in twenty minutes or so.
Bowling:
Ten Pin bowling is one of this towns top night time sports. All lanes are fully automatic and with computer scoring. OD. Bowl is on Second Road near the
turn-off to Jomtien: Pattaya Bowl is also on Second Road near Soi 1 and Jomtien Bowl is at the Royal Jomtien Beach Road.
Badmington:
The Pattaya Badminton Courts are located in Soi 17.
Bungee Jumping:
For the more adventurous, Pattaya offers a 52 metre Kiwi Thai certified New Zealand jump. Open from 10am to 10pm and located on the road to Jomtien Beach.
Croquet:
The Cherry Tree Pub has a beautiful croquet lawn and is located just 13 minutes out of town.
Darts:
Many of the pubs and bars have a board for quick round or two. There are several leagues around town, all of which will welcome your esquires. Check in any
of the expat bars for a contact.
Diving:
There are many diving schools in town and even if you have not dived before, this could be your best chance to get a start in this fascinating hobby. There
is great diving off the islands past Koh Lan.
Fishing:
You can go pond fishing or motor miles out to sea for some deep sea fishing. Panarak Park out of Siam Country Club Road has all the gear you need and a restaurant
and even bungalows. Jomtien Fishing Park is only 300m from the beach and has a good restaurant.
Fitness Parks and Jogging:
Pattaya Fitness Park is located on Temple Hill in Second Road straight on past the Jomtien turn-off. Best times are early morning or late afternoon, but remember
on even overcast days the sun an badly burn you. A sunset or sunrise run along the new Beach Road sea front will impress you. For those liking the harder sand runs,
Wong Amat Beach has the hardest surface and the longest run.
Golf:
Thailand is fast becoming on of the top venues for golfers from thousands of miles around. The courses are tops, the weather magnificent and last but not least,
green fees are amongst the lowest in the world. Generally under 1000B including a caddy.
Gymnasiums:
Many gyms and fitness centres are spread around the city, all with something to offer. Check them out and enjoy the positive benefits of a daily work out.
We stress the necessity to always wear appropriate headgear when outside.
You can easily get badly burnt even on cloudy days.
Go Karting:
Pattaya boasts the largest karting complex in Thailand. They have two tracks (fast and beginners) and also have tandem karts for training sessions. The complexes
are located in Theprasit Road.
Horse Riding:
The Horse Sports Centre, located on Highway 36 on the way to Rayong and 3 km. before the Bira circuit, provides horse back riding by appointment only. Ring 251984

Paint Ball:
A Paint ball Park is located near the old Go-Kart Speedway in Thep Prasit. It offers great facilities for this action-packed fun sport... A great day is assured.
Pool and Snooker:
Registered pool and snooker rooms abound around town. Although the tables that used to proliferate the bars and pubs have disappeared to restrict gambling. Your
hotel will advise you of suitable locations.
Squash:
Again the Cherry Tree Pub should be your first stop for information.
Swimming:
Pattaya has some excellent swimming beaches, the most popular of which is at Jomtien with serviced chairs and umbrellas. Others are Dongtarn and Wong Amat. For
sparkling clean water, a trip to one of the islands is recommended.
Shooting:
Under the Tiffany's Show you'll find a fully equipped nineteen gallery international shooting range with pistols through to 12 bore shot guns. Expert and
extremely safety conscious range offers are on duty at all times the range is open.
Table Tennis:
The Pattaya table Tennis Club is located in Soi Buakaow, near Soi Diana (Diana Inn).
Tennis:
Many of the large hotels have tennis courts. If the hotel where you are staying is without courts or occupied, you can book one at a nearby hotel. Your hotel
receptionist will assist.
Wind Surfing and Sailing:
Jomtien Beach is the place to go for this wind in the hair sport. There are several kiosks on the northern end of the beach that will set you up with a Sail Board
or a Hobie Cat. Tuition is also available.
Water Sking:
Whilst the hiring of speed boats is getting to be expensive, boats are still available at Jomtien.
